abyss rose, congrats on all the great things hapening in your life. i've heard about post partum depression, but i don't know much about it. i guess hormones can do silly things to somebody. when the urge strikes, do some replacement activity, like holding ice or marking on yourself. i am pretty sure if you do chose to cut, you'll have a gnarlier scar than otherwise. with pregnancy and engagement bodily stressors, they won't heal well.

blue iris, umm... i've had this problem before. if there is anything open, treat it very gently and try to get it to heal. vitamic C treatments are supposed to fade scars.

makeup-wise, exfoliate and moisturize really well with lotion mixed with your foundation. then take an appropriately shaded concealer and apply onto the scars. blend blend blend.
for scabs, take a q-tip and apply a very thing lineover it with the concealer, getting it into the creases. then take a clean q tip and blend away from the scab, but not toucihng it. this will leave a layer of concealer over and through the scab which will camoflage (sp?) it.
i've never had any luck with powder, it only works on the face.
and don't sweat or rub your arms against your dress! that would be so bad! will it be hot?

Yes, it will be sweltering - the wedding is June 10. So I should exfoliate my scars and then rub foundation/moisturizer onto them?
Luckily for prom I can wear gloves, and they go with my dress.
    thanks for the tips!

Tips for reducing the appearance of scars:

    Rose hip oil.
With the vitamin C, use proper concentrated Vitamin C oil from the chemist.

blue iris- yes, you should exfoliate.
carefully though, with baking soda or something equally gentle. mostly it is just to smooth them out and the skin around them so the makeup will adhere evenly and be less obvious. i have some skin ickyness other than scarring and i used visine all over my arms before a wedding, then applied clinique's almost makeup all over my arms. it was totally imperceptible and really evened me out.

scabs are next to impossbile to diguise, so you know.

long term, neosporin makes scar pads which help. you can even cover them with duct tape and decorate it. people will just think you are sort of a punk.

I'm still here, sort of. I do believe I picked the best time I could have to quit. First I had the flu and now I'm recovering from surgery. I'm on 18 days, btw.

My health is much improved and I'm getting better daily. Nothing like a health scare to make you be really glad to be alive. Thanks.

Do you use these after the scar has formed? What do I use for deepish wounds that are still healing so they don't scar? If anyone knows.
