Problem or normal behavior?

So vinny has been doing great behavior wise for the past few months. Recently he's started having severe tantrums again. He clenches his hands together. also sometimes he doesnt want me to drive a certain way or gets upset if I go the wrong way in the store..
He has become posessive over ALL of Hannah's toys. if she is playing with it(and I mean any toy..),he WANTS it and will scream bloody murder till she hands it over.. He HAS to carry a toy into the store wherever we are.
Today he wouldnt let me hold his hand, he said "no hand" . This could be his attempt at being more independant, he was able to walk down the stairs and even walked to the car and waited without holding my hand. (He's always been a runner)

Do you think this is normal for his age? (he will be 3 in january) I have thought it was terrible two's or three's but have just thought some of it was odd.. (especially wanting to go only certain directions)

IMHO, that's completely normal behaviour...

And IMHO, the 'terrible two's' ain't got nothin' on the 'tumultous threes'.

I don't remember my daughter or my oldest granddaughter ever being upset if we didn't follow a certain route to the store or follow the same route inside the store each time, but my youngest granddaughter was that way - but apparently only with her mom. However I will say that many kids start getting very anxious when they are 4 or 5 and really begin to recognize landmarks and remember how to get from one place to another if you go a different way and they don't recognize the landmarks. My oldest drove me bonkers when she went through that stage, but I finally started asking her which way she thought we needed to go. Made her feel a little less lost and little more in control, and she was able to demonstrate her new-found skill in navigating.

Thanks for reassuring me. haha. Yes I think the next year is going to be fun. Although he has improved tremendously since last year!
He's talking up a storm. He sometimes makes us laugh with the things he comes out with and he just looks at us and says "What's so funny mommy?" haha

He is a little guy. he's roughly 27 1/2 lbs and 35 inches tall. His doctor isnt concerned because he's following his own curve on the scale ; it isnt going up and down.. He is quite the picky eater too.
I have found though that he likes : Apples, banana's,carrots, red bell peppers, peanut butter. He's not big into meats will eat it occassionally but I wonder if he's going to be a vegitarian when he's older..

Yea, that makes sense. He also seems to have to do things "his way" often.. He lives up to his name haha
I cut his hair this morning and although it took me forever to do because he refused to stay still, it does look good. Were going trick or treating tonight. He's going to be Superman!

I would almost trade you kidlets, at least for a little while. Nove will eat about anything although she has her favorites - but she still refuses to get her hair washes, brushed or cut. I told her last night that she had to have a bath and wash her hair so she'd look good in her costume today for the party at school, and she always comes into the tub willingly enough - but then she thrashes around and yells, splashing water everywhere and deafening us, when we try to wash her hair. Last night she refused to close her eyes or hold a washcloth over them while I rinsed the soap out and she got soap in her eyes and then she really yelled. I'm looking forward to the day when she can take her own bath or shower and wash her own hair.

It sounds normal to me... My nephew was like that with other children's toys and not wanting to hold hands when he got bigger.

I am glad to know he's talking a lot, that's great news, Dreamspell!!

We went with friends of ours who have 4 boys. (8,6, and 4 yr old twins)
