True enough - they're also in metal music and any geek fandom ever. It's a human thing

Polarity requires that strength be balanced by love...there may not be a princess there for me, but I am learning all sides of darkness and light, all means to gnosis...

I'l let you know when I find a magic system to stick with lol. Runes look kinda fun!

So every time I go on vacation, a god comes out of the woodwork lol...Hekate, then Thor on my KC trip, Pakhet on my Nevada trip - and the fourth god of Primalism - SET HIMSELF - has come recently. I will be tested in Storms of Steel, and Shalt Become...

That's why I said MW is pretty good like that - it's for all people, primarily Pagans, but, for all, regardless of path and no path, as long as they show respect. There's room for disagreements and critques, as long as it's done respectfully.

True, unfortunately, it's a part of human nature, which, IMO, is the part we need to fight against.

It's a tribal instinct - the trick is not suppressing it, but transmuting it into a good thing. Uphold the truth, fight evil, but don't be a petty dork and fight over "my metal band is better than your metal band...because it has less listeners on last.fm!"

Agree!

I couldn't agree more!
Humans seem to have a primitve need to have an enemy. To be part of an "US" and to have a reason to hate a "THEM". Maybe this is an evolutionary imperative that helped us survive , I don't know...

I will know we have evolved as a species when we can recognize this in ourselves and, as mentioned above, turn it into a desire to understand "THEM".

I almost got pulled into a "Witchwar" recently, a first for me. I was more than a little surprised and disappointed to see friends and acquaintences arguing vehemently wheter Pagans were better than Heathens or vice versa. Really. Folks that I thought educated, mature, even wise (!) were yapping at each other like snotty kids on the playground. *sigh*

Lol...that's just stupid. "Heathen" is just a term...they're still, quite frankly, pagans whether they like it or not

And I agree about the evolutionary imperative. That seems to me to be the reason...but evolutionary imperatives are no longer necessary for most of us :/

Well, should evangelicalism diminish, it will make way for actual
Biblical fundamentalism to grow some more.
This should please everyone here for that means we will even
further outnumber the Phelps types who aren't even Fundies
no matter what they claim.
