practical scrying

today, i did something that really surprised me. i felt the need to know somethign real bad, and in my determination i sought out something with which to divine my answer.

inspiration! i pulled out my cell phone, allowed myself to focus, ground, and within a few minutes, the powerless cell phone screen began to help my mind see images, hear words, and even know things on an intuitive level.

yeah, i used my cell phone as a scrying mirror. anyone have any comments on that?

I've done that too. I've also used a blank computer screen, and my bedroom window at night. (That's only practical if, like me, you live so far out in the sticks that it's pitch-black at night.)

I am rather intrigued. Me question is: what is the difference from every form of medium for the purpose of scrying? like cell phone screens, crystal balls, mirrors? Do they all react differently?

Well, i would think that different materials would have different properties to them, same as in magick.

BUT, at the same time, I think as far as scrying goes it really only matters on what the person is comfortable with.

the way it has been explained to me, the object used for scrying isn't as important as relaxing the tension of the mind as to let the visions flow. maybe it doesn't matter? i mean...a girl on here said she has scryed with a blank sheet of paper. and bar some fetish, i would assume that she didn't really have any connection with the paper.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too.
Scrying doesn't have to be trumped up and ritualized.
I've scryed in a sliding glass door.

Can't use my computer monitor anymore, no CRT it's all LCD now.

you can get a reflection off an lcd monitor if you make sure its good and clean

& no, I don't have a paper fetish, it's something that would just happen when I wanted to draw something. I'd stare at it & in aurora borealis colors(or psychedelic colors)I would see what I wanted to draw. Later, I'd just use it to scry, like I said, anything you can stare at & "space out" on; an old glass-front tv is good (with it shut off), a candle flame if the brightness doesn't interfere.

LOVE the cell phone scry, totally 21st C, excellent repurposed move.

ever wonder how that works?

when i work with tarot cards, i imagine that they are aligned with the universe, that they follow the same rules, and therefore, everything they tell me is a symblance of how those rules apply to my life on a specific issue.

maybe this thing with scrying is just a way of tapping into that collective unconscious of the planet?
