I guess that depends. If the smoke caused a part to go bad, then that's not warranty repair. If a part went bad and smoke's not the culprit, that's a different story. But when you have buildups like what I've seen inside computers, it's hard to argue that smoke wasn't responsible.

not necessarily, as I said before most newer macs are water cooled, which significantly reduces the risk of damage due to smoke right off the bat, other problems from smoke usually don't show up within a year. I've seen plnety of smokers computers that had problems not due to smoke.
