What is a spirit guide? I've read a few threads on it but it's still confusing me. And how do I find out what mine is?

Also, how do I know what my element/color, those things, are?

spirit guides are wonderful, they are there to help guide you through your life, helping you along your path!
at the right time, they always make themselves known to you, but never to scare you!
before we incarnate, we would know of these wonderful spirits!
I have many guides that i work with,...angels also!
the love you will feel from them is immense!

some people meet thier spirit guides in meditations, or dreams or rituals...and some don't have any at all (or maybe they just aren't aware of them?).

some people are naturally more attuned to a certain element than others, that is they find it easier to work with say fire. So that might be what you are asking? Colors are associated with elements, but also dieties, and states of being (pink=love,comfort, white= purity, etc) but color correspondences can differ based on whatever tradition you work with, or personal beliefs.

Finding your Element and color sounds like Wiccan fluff book stuff. Some people believe that their Sun Sign indicates that they are born with an affinity with a certain Element, but that change, as was already stated, with a wide variety of circumstances. A good way to look at your Elemental makeup is to get yourself a detailed birthchart - it should be pretty apparent if you have more of one Element's influence in your chart. However, it's not that this is 'your Element'. It just means that you probably are more naturally inclined to embody characteristics of that particular Element. As for what your color is, I have no idea what that means.

Spirit guides can be met in many ways, but they are usually met through meditation and guided visualizations. Of course they can come to you on their own accord.

I have yet to find my spirit guide. I had one when I was in my teens but I don't feel him any more. I think he moved on. However for my element I have just always known. It's water and even though I am an air sign I am way more connect with water. Even through my family background. My great grand father was lost at sea and sailing is in my blood really. I grew up on the west coast, I have been able to swim since I was very very little. I feel more empowered around large bodies of water. It is just written in me I suppose. My suggestion for your element would be to spend time with each element and see what speaks to you. Sit in front of a fire, sit by a lake or ocean, sit outside and listen to the wind. Go on a walk and put your hands on the earth. You will find what you are looking for.

As for a spirit guide I really don't know about that one. Seeing as I don't feel mine. Perhaps I need to do some searching too...
