dream catcher - this seems like a bad idea

Ask the maker of it!! Who ever made it knows its purpose. It sounds like it may have just been made because its neat and the maker can get some money for it. A nice decoration maybe.

Anything, no matter who makes it or even the why, can be whatever you want it to be when you make it yours!

I made a dream catcher for my daughter when she was around 2 yrs old. It was beads strung on a string with some feathers. It was no web. No regular dream catcher. Didnt matter. Her nightmares that were causing her night terrors stopped and she was ok with sleep again!!

Make it yours, be it a dream catcher, ornament, or divination tool!! Whatever.
Its yours. Bond with it if you want it to be more than just a thing.

Maybe they just look pretty!, personally, I just see them as works fo art, I'm not sure if they really trap bad dreams or not, but, I've volunteered at places, like fairs (like near my uni, they had this Green Fair every year, except last year, and Dreamcatchers were made, I just thought they looked very creative).

I was under the impression that they traped bad dreams. I was told that the negative dreams where larger than than the good dreams and couldn't get thru the holes and so got trapped. When morning came the sun drove away the dreams still clinging to the net. As for the yin yang sign I would assume some one thought it would make a good decoration, as they don't traditionally appear on dream catchers.
