"The Secrets of the Tarot: Origins, History, and Symbolism" by Barbara Walker is very informative.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions so out of the ones posted for tarot decks I have narrowed it down to the three Mystic Dreamer Tarot,
Tarot Of Trees, Lunatic Tarot. And I get a strong feeling that if I have to chose one that the Lunatic Tarot is the one I will go with simply because the art style appeals to me and then finding out that it is a Chinese deck explains a lot

As for the books "The Secrets of the Tarot: Origins, History, and Symbolism" by Barbara Walker and Greer books I will ask for at Christmas

The Lunatic is really truly an awesome deck...just make sure you get the card version...and not the portfolio version.
The portfolio shows off the art better, but they are HUGE and nearly impossible to read with! Sometimes tarot internet dealers don't tell you which one you are getting!

Yes I noticed on a website I found about the two versions so I will make sure I pay attention to that Thanks

I was sorely disappointed in the Mystic Dreamer tarot in person.

If at all possible, get a look at all the cards up close before buying. The real people used in the digital art don't flow and blend very well with the backgrounds. It doesn't look that way in scans, for some reason, but I was very thankful to be able to return the deck after opening it!

The card stock is quite flimsy, as well.

I second the votes for the Tarot of Trees and the Paulina! (And I'm off to check out the Lunatic as soon as I hit submit!)
