Artume.

Does anyone know where I can find more information about her? I've been googling but this is all the information anyone has - "in Etruscan mythology, Artume or Aritimi was the goddess of night, the moon and death, as well as nature, forests and fertility. She was associated with the Greek Artemis. Other related archivesArtemis, Etruscan mythology, Greek, death, fertility, forests, moon, nature, night."

Have you looked on http://www.godchecker.com/
It seems to be down at the moment, I tried looking but it should be up and running later.

There doesn't appear to be a lot on her:

http://www.pantheon.org/areas/mythol.../articles.html
^^ basically just what you said above.

http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/egods.htm
^^ gives another alternate name "Artames"

which lead me to:

http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/top...scan_mythology

From what I have read it seems as though Artume is the equivalent of Artemis from the Greek Pantheon.

Also, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etruscan_civilization I know its wikipedia so i don't know how accurate everything there is.

From what I could see some of the Greek Gods were taken in the this pantheon (right word?) but the names were changed slightly and the theme slightly changed too. By theme I mean, for example: Artume is Goddess of the night, the moon and death. The theme being "of the night, the moon and death". I don't mean any offence or misunderstanding when I use the term theme.

Thats what I found, hope that helped somehow

See if this link works for you:

http://books.google.com/books?id=TVA...rtumes&f=false

It might only be working for me because I'm on a university computer.

Let me know. If it doesn't work, I can type a quick summary when I have time.

Mass hysteria and mass complacency are flip sides of the same coin. Never panic, always think for yourself. Question all information, even from those individuals and sources you hold most cherished, for in those instances, complacency and hysteria alike become all too easy. All information either comes from humans or is filtered through the human mind (our own or another's) and thus subject to human faults no matter if it comes from a scientist or a messiah. Question it. And constantly question yourself.

There are alternate spellings for her name: Artumes, Artimi. Raven Grimassi is of the opinion that Artimi is the goddess who became the Diana of Stregheria; you can probably find something he's written on the subject -- perhaps even here, in the Authors section. I've seen his posts there.

We do know from academic studies that Artimi equates to Artemis, and that Artemis influenced the development of Roman beliefs about Diana. While the goddess Diana is indigenous to Italy, her cult was influenced by the Greek myths about Artemis.

Regarding Artumes, here is a link:
