Information About "Astrial Projection"

I hope I'm putting this in the right section. If not I'll have it moved. Regardless, this is the situation: I recently bought a book that is supposed to help you learn Astrial Projection. I was reading the introduction and it mentioned something about the Akashic Records. Evidentially this is supposed to be a record of all the lives you have lived and will live.

I have been a mild student of the field of Astrial Projection for a couple of years now, more as acuriosity than a study, but this is the first time I've heard of these records and so I was hoping to get some more information on whether or not there is any fact behind this. Anyone that may know anything about this please feel free to share. Thank you.

I find asking if there is any fact behind it a rather odd way of phrasing the question, since when I think about facts, I think about science. These things are clearly not science, and there is really no way to objectively prove if this thing exists; the only evidence available are things like anecdotes and your own personal experience. I have heard others reference the akashic records - I think it originated relatively recently from theosophy - and sure, to the people who choose to believe in it, it's real. From what I understand, those who believe in it see it as more of a complete clearinghouse of all thought/spirit/mystical knowledge; it's not restricted to past lives (as one may or may not believe in those either but still work with the AR).

Not being a follower of theosophy, I don't follow the idea of the akashic records, but I also don't follow the idea of astral projection and the astral plane in general. I've never had anyone explain either of these ideas to me in a way that makes sense within my worldview, so that's probably part of why.

Description and Explanation of the Akashic records The Akasha is said to be the library of all events and responses concerning consciousness in all realities. Every lifeform therefore contributes and has access to the Akashic Records. It is asserted that to gain access into the Akashic Records, every individual human can become the physical medium, and various techniques and spiritual disciplines (e.g., yogic, pranayama, meditation, prayer, visualization) can be employed to quiet the mind, become a "witness", and achieve the focused, preconscious state necessary to access the Records.

Firstly, if you plan on doing a search for it please use the correct spelling.
not meaning to scold here but when dealing with the esoteric realms you will find spelling is important.

Astral Projection , as it is called, is something you do naturally every time you sleep. Once your body is relaxed enough and it enters sleep paralysis.. your soul takes flight. IE Dreams.

The akashic records are not only records of your past lives, but are the repository of the collective works of the divine mind. That is everything from the collective soul mind of consciousness of all beings past present and future.
