Vision of Hathor?
Well, she's still in the egyptian pantheon but...
She appeared to me in a big airy bare stone room with thrones, with sunlight drifting down from the windows. I asked what she wanted from me. She handed me a piece of parchment/papyrus that had a painting of a scarab on it and told me to remember it. It wasn't a dream, I was fully awake. What does this mean? My patron is Bast. |

Research the God Khepri. He's what was on the papyrus that She handed you.

I'm still not sure what it means...perhaps She was telling me to keep going, to never give up? I don't really feel a pull to Khepri...

Perhaps there are some new beginnings on your horizon? Are you going through a transformative period? Those would be the intellegences of Kephri and perhaps what Hathor wants you to remember, the power behind new beginnings and transformation.
Also Khepri is known as "he who is coming into being". Perhaps this is marking your ascent or forward movement along your personal path.

Can't Bast be considered to be a benign aspect of Hathor, like Sekhmet can be considered Hathor in her destructive aspect? Egyptian cosmology is so wonderfully confusing and fluid in that certain gods can be the same yet individual at the same time. The Egyptians were smart in that they didn't take everything so literally, and understood the importance of metaphor and poetry.
