Whats in your Soul?

I've never really talked to any writers..so I'm not sure if this is common or not, but i'm constantly writing things down here and there and never using it for anything...something pops into my head and I write it down on whatever is at hand and forget about it..I've got hundreds of little pieces of paper scattered about haphazardly with a few lines or observations..a sea of randomness...sometimes when I'm on MW I write whatever pops into my head on the whats on your mind thread...appropriate place, yes ..but...often they are short poems that came to me spontaneously when I hit the reply button...hardly polished work but simply whatever bubbled to the surface at that moment in time that would normally get discarded or forgotten and I just have to get it out.....so...anyone else?..

I wrote this a little while ago and as I was about to delete it I figured I would copy & paste it to make this thread instead so I could have a place to empty all the random insight and insanity out of my head with no care for punctuation or structure or spelling or who might steal my words......and so you could too..if your not cringing at the mere thought....join me if you will.....


Im tired..my mind has taken a vacation..it said to say hi and goodbye..then it lept out of my spirit and flew off into the sky without a moments hesitation...im tired...i sit day after day with no will...no will to move.no will to fight.no will to speak.no will to care whats wrong and whats right...i'm tired...im tired of being tired..I don't want to be this empty vessel void of any worth sitting by and watching the world as it grows and evolves while I stand by not caring..not participating...not sharing myself with those close to me..not developing my potential to see what could be...but i'm so damn tired..I'm gonna go away now...find myself a nice spot beneath some tree where I can find some peace and get some sleep...don't wake me..don't look for me...just let me be...sweet despondency.

AH I have to laugh at your comment about the hundreds of little pieces of paper... you see right now I have my pile of poems I want to do today another pile for later this week and then to the left of me is a pile of all the scraps I wrote things on here and there that I did not have the heart to throw away cause I know one day I would eventually use it.. or hope to. so my point is your not alone when it comes to the little peices of paper

Yeah! A random Sesen thread!! I love reading your random crazy acts of creativity. I have very much missed them , and am glad to see you make a spot for them! I used to look forward to going into the other forum to see what you had posted that day.

Yeah...I keep a notebook with me so I have some semblance of order. Lots of times I go back and read what I wrote in the book and then that will prod my imagination and I'll come up with a little more. Sometimes I wonder if I can come up with anything in one sitting... Actually I can, but I'm usually dwelling on something that's really bothering me. I'd rather be randomly scattered than obsesively blinded.

Aye, I have a few notebooks as well that I use for the same reason..I just usually don't have them on hand so I have to write on loose paper..napkins.......the walls ...I'd love to read some random piece that you wrote on the fly

LOL I'm the same way. I have two small notebooks full of what I call "story maps" where I jot down ideas for stories, the character names etc. Of course I haven't written any new ones down in ages because I've been concentrating mostly on my poetry the last few years. Even there sometimes I'll write a verse or two then forget about it, then come across it later on and finish it.

I have books full of stuff like this but manage to go back and use most of it eventually.

Also, if you're going through a dry spell creatively it can often help to go back to these little things for inspiration.

I have a folder on my PC which I use for all the snippets I had which i really liked but didn't have a place for. Just recently it got harvested and a load of it was perfect for the songs I was writing.
