Exclamation Right-Wingers and Neocons Love Obama's Cabinet Appointments

Link

Quote:
"I am gobsmacked by these appointments, most of which could just as easily have come from a President McCain ... this all but puts an end to the 16-month timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, the unconditional summits with dictators, and other foolishness that once emanated from the Obama campaign ... [Hillary] Clinton and [James] Steinberg at State should be powerful voices for 'neo-liberalism' which is not so different in many respects from 'neo-conservativism.'"
-- Max Boot, neoconservative activist, former McCain staffer.

"I see them as being sort of center-right of the Democratic party."
-- James Baker, former Secretary of State and the man who led the theft of the 2000 election.

"[S]urprising continuity on foreign policy between President Bush's second term and the incoming administration ... certainly nothing that represents a drastic change in how Washington does business. The expectation is that Obama is set to continue the course set by Bush ... "
-- Michael Goldfarb of the neoconservative Weekly Standard.

"I certainly applaud many of the appointments ... "
-- Senator John McCain

"So far, so good."
-- Senator Lamar Alexander, senior Republican Congressional leader.

Hillary Clinton will be "outstanding" as Secretary of State
-- Henry Kissinger, war criminal

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Well, don't say I didn't try to warn ya that there was no difference between the two parties.

In 6 months those same people will be complaining that Obama appointed a bunch of communists. They're just being courteous for now.

Bingo. Wait until he's into his presidency.

Wait a minute... I distinctly recall some major pissing, moaning, and whining because some people thought the cabinet appointments were too liberal...

Nah, people were complaining that they were all too Retro-Clinton-era. I'd hardly consider Hillary or any of these other clowns to be Liberals in the correct sense...

You mean in YOUR sense.

The appointment of Clinton administrative staff is a little worrying but he seems to be making steps in the right direction. Moving to fire politically appointed ambassadors is a good step. And lets be honest, the Clinton era presided over the largest surplus this country has known in quite some time. And like it or not, Hillary IS a recognized face around the world and has a rapport with foreign dignitaries from her years as First Lady. With the right boss behind her I think she could do some real good in foreign circles.

If we're going to be honest, then why the hell are you repeating that myth/lie? There WAS NO surplus during the Clinton era, nor has there been a surplus at any time within the last 40 years.

I challenge you to do a little research and look at the budget for the year this "surplus" supposed to have occurred. Then show me where you see this surplus. Until then, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about and are making a fool of yourself.

Time for me to educate you, I guess:

Link

Quote:
The claim is made that in Fiscal Year 2000, President Clinton ran a budget surplus of $236 billion. My previous article demonstrates that far from a surplus, the government had to increase the national debt by $18 billion. How can you claim a surplus when you have to borrow more money?

Indeed, citizens that hear about the Clinton "surplus" but also know the national debt never went down may legitimately ask, "How can the national debt increase even when the government supposedly has a surplus?" This article will provide a detailed explanation of how Clinton claimed a surplus even when the government borrowed $18 billion more the same year.
So how the hell can you have a "surplus" and have the debt go up in the same year? Please explain that to me.

This so called "surplus" was actually the result of the government borrowing money (ie: increasing the debt) from things like social security. So Clinton was able to create a "surplus" by raiding trust funds and replacing them with IOUs and all the while increasing the national debt? That's real amazing! Not...

You'll forgive me if I dont take the analysis of "Common Sense American Conservatism" at face value. Especially when the person dispensing the "common sense" is an electrical engineer.

The link I provided gives you a breakdown of the reasons behind the surplus.
